Announcing Asia's Hope in Australia!

We're thrilled to welcome the Caringbah Baptist Church (Caringbah, New South Wales) as our first partnering church from the great country of Australia!

Pastors Jonathan "Jono" Shanks, Paul Summers and Broderick Storey visited Cambodia with a team from the church in February 2013 and returned home with a passion for the ministry of Asia's Hope and a vision for partnering with us to start a new home in Battambang that will rescue and raise 20-25 orphaned children.

They presented the vision to the congregation, who responded enthusiastically and generously. Within just a few weeks of launching the initial fundraising campaign, the church has already raised 100% of the funds necessary to start construction on what will be our Battambang 10 children's home!

We're thrilled about this partnership, and believe that CBC is the first of many projects sponsored by Australian churches. We are already talking about establishing Asia's Hope as a registered charity in Australia, and hope to make progress toward that goal over the next 24 months.

Please pray for Caringbah Baptist, and for the children they will be sponsoring.

Many of you may have heard about the fire that killed 37 Christian Karen-tribe refugees from Burma in Northern Thailand, leaving more than 2,000 homeless.

Asia's Hope is deeply tied to these tribal communities, as most of our kids and staff are hilltribe themselves.

In fact, our Thai Director, Tutu Bee, is from the Karen tribe.

We feel a strong kinship, and wish to bless these dear brothers and sisters in their time of urgent need.

In the next few days, we will be announcing specific plans to help, and will be requesting donations to help with rebuilding and emergency aid. Please begin to pray about how you, your church, your business and your family can help.

If you would like to get involved, or have any questions, please contact Executive Director John McCollum john@asiashope.org
