What's an Asia's Hope Chapter?

We’re launching Asia’s Hope Chapters, to allow students like you — students who are not content to simply raise awareness — to dig in, get informed, get engaged and equipped to unleash hope for orphaned kids around the world.

Asia’s Hope provides family-style care for orphaned children at high risk of sexual and economic exploitation. When a child is accepted into one of our homes, we give them a new mom and dad, a loving family, a safe and nurturing home and a childhood full of opportunities, not oppression.

We believe that if these children are to reach their potential — and permanently break the cycle of poverty — they need to know that if they succeed in school as a child, we will make sure they can attend university or vocational training as well. The average annual cost for university education in the United States is about $23,000 including fees, tuition, room and board. But at Asia’s Hope, we can provide a good university education for only $1,400 a year. And that includes everything a student needs to attend and succeed at school.

That's where you come in. You can lead your school, your neighborhood or any group of friends in awareness and meaningful engagement with the worldwide orphan crisis by starting an Asia’s Hope Chapter. All it takes is 25 individuals willing to spread the word; we will provide you all of the tools you’ll need to change the lives of orphaned kids in Cambodia, Thailand and India.

Become an official chapter

Contact us and let us know who you are, where you go to school and when you would like to start your chapter. If we know of other people at your school who have expressed interest in starting a chapter, we’ll introduce you — maybe you can work together!  Get in touch, get involved. 

Recruit chapter members

When it comes to meeting your fundraising goal, you’ll want as much help as you can get! Ideally, an Asia’s Hope chapter will grow to at least 25 members. The earlier you reach that level of membership the easier it will be to make an impact. Keep your membership informed about events and initiatives, and make use of the resources section of this site to equip and educate yourself and your new chapter.

Select a chapter president

Maybe you should be the president, chapter’s main cheerleader, organizer and ringleader. Or maybe one of your friends is perfect for that role. We ask that our presidents make a 12 month commitment to the role. Just let us know who it’s going to be, and we’ll work with that person to launch and promote the chapter.

Create a fundraiser page

We use an online fundraising platform called Click and Pledge Connect. We’ll create a fundraising page for your chapter, and show you how to set up fundraiser pages for each chapter member. This will allow chapter members to accept online gifts towards their personal fundraising goal, allowing everyone to track their own progress! Contact us to get started.

Start raising funds

Now that you’re officially a chapter, there’s nothing stopping you from unleashing hope. We think that every chapter should be able to raise $10,000 in a year for Asia’s Hope university scholarships. That’s only $400 per person if your group has 25 members. Use Click and Pledge Connect to accept donations from your friends and family. Schedule and host events. We compiling a list of fundraising ideas, and we’re pretty sure that your chapter can come up with something we never even thought of.

Turn on your megaphone

Are you an avid tweeter? Are you all over Instagram? Start telling your friends and followers about Asia’s Hope and your chapter. We’ll set you up with easily-repostable news stories, info tidbits and photos of our kids. If you’re really excited about waving the Asia’s Hope flag, we’ll send you custom avatars, profile pics and social media banner images. And, of course, you should promote the heck out of any of your chapter’s news or events.
