FROM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR JOHN MCCOLLUM

Director’s letter

Dear friend,

Once again, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude for the way God has blessed Asia’s Hope.

Sure, we’ve faced our share of frustrations over the past year. I for one am dying to return to see my friends and family in Cambodia, Thailand and India. Thanks to covid-related travel restrictions, I’ve missed weddings, graduations, groundbreakings and a million lifegiving interactions. I know many of you share my deep longing to return — and my confidence that trips will resume sooner rather than later.

But these past couple of years have proven two things to me:

First, that our model is working. 20 years ago, we set out to create an indigenously-led organization, one that could thrive without constant on-the-ground supervision from an American board or staff.

And second, that the Asia’s Hope family all around the world — in the States, Canada, Australia, Cambodia, Thailand and India — is fully bought into the mission, and deeply committed to its success.

And so, as we enter our third decade of ministry, I’m confident that the best, most rewarding days lie directly in front of us. I can’t wait to share with you some of the exciting new initiatives we plan to launch in the coming months. But for today, I invite you to join me in reviewing a few 2021’s many highlights…

Warmly,

John McCollum, Executive Director
