“The theme of this year’s campaign is From Generation to Generation. And I can’t think of a better way to demonstrate the return on your investment in Asia’s Hope than to offer these personal testimonies of kids — young adults now — who were rescued by Asia’s Hope and who are now living out their God-given potential.” — Executive Director, John McCollum

Joshua says, “I was one of those hopeless kids. A hopeless kid has never been called ‘son’ from a daddy just once. Life was very hard…Maybe if there is no Asia’s Hope, I don’t know how much Jesus loves me, right?”

Sreyka says, “Things were out of reach because my dad was so sick. Every day after class, I needed to walk a dozen miles with my grandma to sell scarves and snacks in the village just to earn some extra money to help support my family…”

Arunpon says, “I know that without Asia’s Hope, none of my accomplishments would be possible. My life today — my bright future and fulfilling job — all of it is because of your support of Asia’s Hope…”

Chhem says, “Before school, I needed to sell cakes to support the family. Sometimes I didn’t have enough food to eat, and I didn’t have enough money to go to school…Without Asia’s Hope, my life is hopeless and I don’t have a bright future.”

Wicha says, “I felt so sad and hated myself. So many times I felt like no one cared for me or loved me. I was very poor. I wanted to have love like other children, but I couldn’t find it. I didn’t know how to do anything to improve my life…”

Raising $200k to rescue vulnerable children and equip young leaders

As 2020 comes to a close, we at Asia’s Hope face both challenges and opportunities. And that’s why we’re counting on you, our generous community of supporters, to help us start the new decade with the funds we need to continue our work.

Rescuing vulnerable children

When we bring a child into the Asia’s Hope family, we place them in a supportive, nurturing home tailored to meet their needs.

We’re blessed to own outright — 100% debt free — 29 of our 35 houses, two schools and four church buildings (we rent our Indian homes).

But many of these facilities have endured heavy wear from years and years of constant use.

Your contributions this year will allow us to maintain our investment in these existing  homes, preparing us for future expansion.

Equipping young leaders

In 2003, we promised our very first group of rescued kids, “If you work hard and graduate high school, we’ll pay for you to go to university.” We had no idea at the time that so many of our children would beat the odds to take us up on that challenge!

This year, we’re providing tuition, room and board, and education-related expenses for 169 university and vocational training students in Cambodia, Thailand and India. We’ll need $290,000 this school year alone. By 2025, we’ll have more than 220 students in college at one time, and we’ll need more than $520,000 per year to keep them all enrolled.

This kind of commitment to higher education is nearly unprecedented among orphan care organizations. But it’s a key component of our promise to treat each of the Asia’s Hope children the same way we’d treat our own kids at home.

By giving generously to our year-end campaign, you’ll help us keep our scholarship fund healthy for this year and years to come.
