An orphan’s greatest need is to not be an orphan anymore.
Your generous year-end gift to Asia’s Hope will enrich the lives of the 800+ kids and 200+ staff already in our care — and provide the gift of a stable, loving family to countless orphaned kids still waiting for a family.
There is no one as vulnerable as an orphaned child in a poor country.
From the moment a child is orphaned — whether through death, abandonment, or permanent separation from their parents — their future becomes perilously uncertain.
Many face heartbreaking paths leading to exploitation, disease, abuse, addiction, or a life of abject poverty.
Unless someone steps in.
We believe that every child deserves not just a place to stay, but a loving family.
While many orphaned children can be cared for by extended family members, for those who cannot, their futures are often bleak.
Without intervention, many will find themselves on the streets, in forced labor, or even in the grip of human trafficking. Others might be placed in large institutional orphanages, where the focus is often on survival, not on meeting the deeper needs of these children.
At Asia’s Hope, we know that orphaned children need so much more than just food, shelter, and education. They need to experience love, stability, and belonging. The need a family.
Pictured above, Sarouen was rescued by Asia’s Hope Cambodia when he was just 12 years old. His father had died, and his mother abandoned him. But he found a new family at our Prek Eng 1 home, where he lived with dad Sopheng, mom Somary and a house full of loving brothers and sisters. Today, Sarouen and his wife Ratha are raising a new generation of children as Asia’s Hope parents at our Prek Eng 3 home.
The greatest gift you can give a child is to ensure they are no longer an orphan.
And that can only happen in the context of a stable, loving family.
That’s why, unlike most orphan care providers, we model our homes on the structure of a real family.
Every child in our care is welcomed into a home with a dedicated, married mom and dad who live with them, providing consistent, 24/7 love and guidance throughout their childhood.
The parents are present, emotionally invested, and committed to raising the same group of children all the way through to adulthood.
No shift workers, no part-time caregivers.
It doesn’t end there. We treat every child at Asia’s Hope the way we would treat our own.
At Asia’s Hope, we don’t arbitrarily “age out” children at 16 or 18. Every child has the opportunity to finish high school, regardless of their age. They’re given the chance to pursue university degrees or professional job skills training, ensuring they can step confidently into adulthood with the tools they need to succeed.
This level of commitment may seem extraordinary. But it’s the result of an intentional, ongoing choice to treat every child the way we would treat our own.
We can do even more, but we need your help.
As we look toward the end of 2024 and the beginning of 2025, we have dozens of kids waiting to be welcomed into loving Asia’s Hope families. And we are 100% committed to fulfilling our promise of a college education for hardworking Asia’s Hope graduates.
But our resources are limited. Donations have not kept pace with rising costs. Five of our homes lack sponsors. 65 university scholarships have yet to be funded.
Dear friend,
It’s an honor to serve some of the world’s most vulnerable kids on your behalf. Without your generosity, these orphaned and abandoned kids would face a life of poverty and exploitation without a future, and without hope.
But because of your support, we’re able to give these kids more than just a roof over their heads.
We’re able to give them a family, led by a mom and dad who love them and who raise them knowing that they are loved by their Heavenly Father.
In each of the three countries with Asia’s Hope homes, there are even more vulnerable kids waiting to be rescued. And there are more opportunities we want to give the children already in our care.
But we need your help.
Last year, donations were down — and our costs were up. So we’ve had to slow the rate at which we can accept new kids. There are improvements and expansions we’ve put on hold.
But we can turn that around by meeting or exceeding our $175,000 year-end funding goal.
Will you join us in prayerfully considering making a generous gift to Asia’s Hope before the end of 2024?
This will help us give the gift of family to even more children in 2025.
Yours in Christ,
