When a child comes to Asia’s Hope, they come with a lot of needs.
They need shelter. Clothes. Medical care. A good education. They need food.
But more than anything, they need a family. They need to know that they’re loved, that they have a future. They come to us hungry. Hungry for hope.
Many of our kids remember what it was like before.
Digging through trash heaps for something to eat. Going to sleep not knowing when the next meal would come.
For some of these kids, food wasn’t made to be delicious. It was just calories — if you could get it at all.
Now imagine coming to Asia’s Hope.
Imagine receiving the best meal of your life. And then waking up the next morning to the smell of rice cooking, and the happy sounds of parents and older siblings working in the kitchen.
Imagine something as simple as having your own cup. Your own spoon. Imagine dessert. Ice cream. A birthday cake.
That’s why the shared table matters so much to us.
Every Asia’s Hope home is built on a real family — a mom, a dad, aunties and grandmothers. Kitchens and gardens and family meals that nourish the body and the soul, building secure bonds that last a lifetime.

A letter from our Executive Director, John McCollum
I believe that a shared table is a sacred thing.
Read the Bible and you’ll notice something: the whole story of humanity begins in a garden and ends at a banquet.
One of the first things Jesus did when he gathered his disciples after the resurrection? He cooked them breakfast.
There’s a big difference — especially for a child who’s known trauma — between mere sustenance and a meal, even a simple one, prepared with love. By a mom. A dad. An auntie or a grandma who knows your name — and who will be there for you tonight, tomorrow morning, and every day after that.
Twenty-five years of ministry alongside our brothers and sisters in Asia has taught us a lot about our values: hospitality, simplicity, delight and hope. And nowhere are those values more clearly expressed than in the meals we prepare and share together.
As we finish 2026 and look toward 2027, we’re thankful for every breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack shared with the people we love. And we’re asking you to help us set the table for the year ahead. Join us if you’re hungry for hope.

Will you help us set the table?
We need to raise $200,000 between now and December 31 so we can continue creating hope-filled futures for orphaned kids.
By the time a child comes into our care, they have already experienced significant loss and pain that can only begin to heal when they are welcomed into a safe, stable and loving family.
That’s why we work so hard to provide real families — not institutions — for some of the world’s most vulnerable kids.
As we finish 2026 and look toward the new year, we have so many opportunities to rescue, raise and resource orphaned kids in the countries we serve. But we need your help.
We need to hire new staff, repair homes and vehicles, provide scholarships for our students, and support unsponsored homes.
Will you join us in setting the table for the kids currently in our care, and the ones who will be arriving in 2027?

Hope begins with a home.
It starts with a seat at the table and a sense of belonging. From there, it becomes a foundation for a future filled with possibility, purpose and hope.
In 2026, 42 new children took their place in our care. 33 kids who grew up with us graduated high school. All 33 have begun university or vocational training. 62 graduated university. And yet others have pursued post-graduate degrees through our Exemplary Scholars Fellowship.
When you invest in Asia’s Hope, you’re investing in children like these. Your generous year-end gift helps us fulfill the promises we’ve made to the kids in our care — and prepare a welcome for dozens of children who are hungry for hope, and are waiting for a place to call home.
