Continuing our journey of support for the Prek Eng 6 Children’s Home

Visitors from Vineyard Columbus at the Prek Eng 6 Home shortly after its founding

A decade ago, God began moving in the hearts of a handful of Asia’s Hope supporters and their friends in Columbus, Ohio who desired to build and provide ongoing support for a new home for orphaned kids in Prek Eng, Cambodia.

In 2015 the newly-created “Prek Eng 6 Champions Circle” began to meet and pray, and ask God to provide the funds we would need to make the vision for this new home a reality.

Most of the people in the Champions Circle were members of Vineyard Columbus, and as the project picked up momentum, all of us were eager for VCC to provide financial, logistical and spiritual support for the initiative. And thus Vineyard Columbus became the official church sponsor of the new Prek Eng 6 Home.

The first decade

In the decade since, the kids and staff of Prek Eng 6 have enjoyed the love and support of Vineyard Columbus and the fiscal stability that the partnership provided. We’re deeply grateful to the church for nearly 10 years of shared ministry.

The current transition

As 2025 comes to a close, we find ourselves in a period of transition – and a time of need.

Vineyard Columbus’ missions funding model has changed, leading to an end of the formal partnership with Asia’s Hope.

This means that after February, Asia’s Hope will no longer be receiving financial support from the church. This means that the Prek Eng 6 Home is once again in need of support – in the amount of $3,900 per month.

A way forward: the new Prek Eng 6 Champions Circle

We know that many of the families and individuals who have supported the Prek Eng 6 Home – as a part of the original Champions Circle, through giving to Vineyard Columbus, or both – have a stake not only in the history of the PE6 Home, but also in its future.

With that in mind, we are re-establishing the Prek Eng 6 Champions Circle, and asking you to join with us – and invite your friends – to provide the ongoing support for these precious kids.

What we’re specifically asking you to do

  • Join the new Prek Eng 6 Champions Circle by making a recurring gift that will help us provide ongoing support for the home.

  • Make a special one-time donation — above and beyond what you had otherwise planned to give to Asia’s Hope this year — to help ease the short-term effects of this funding transition

Benefits of joining the Champions Circle

  • Lay claim to a stake in the ongoing success of this home — for this generation of kids and the next.

  • Receive pictures, updates, prayer requests multiple times a year

  • Have the opportunity to participate in periodic video calls

  • Have the opportunity to apply for participation on trips to visit the home with other members of the Champions Circle

Home profile

Son and Samnang have been Prek Eng 6 mom and dad since the home’s founding in 2015.

They raised their biological child along with multiple generations of orphaned and vulnerable kids, many of whom have graduated high school and university, and have gone on to start their own careers.

Today, the Prek Eng 6 Home is home to 7 kids between the age of nine and 18. Additionally, 12 university kids from this home are currently living at our student center.

When the university students graduate — or when funding otherwise permits — we will begin adding new, younger kids to the home. The total capacity for the home is 20 children and four adult caregivers.

Fiscal profile

The Champions Circle needs to raise enough funds to support:

  • Operational expenses: $3,900/mo

  • Scholarship expenses:

    • 12 university scholarships @ $1,650 each (2025–2026 need already met!)

  • First line of defense for other non-budgeted needs (e.g. medical emergencies, unforeseen repairs)
