So many of you have told me some version of, “This has been a tough year, but our support of Asia’s Hope is unwavering. We have your back: we’re in this together!”
Because we’ve trusted God — and relied on each other — we’ve managed to not just keep afloat: we’ve actually excelled in many of our key metrics.
Fueled by a strong 2020 year-end giving initiative, we hit the ground running in January, and never looked back.
Throughout the pandemic, millions of students in poor communities have lacked access to distance learning technology, and untold numbers of these kids have dropped out of school, and may never return.
But at Asia’s Hope, our directors, staff and home parents worked hard to keep all of our students engaged, and our donors responded quickly to provide the laptops, projectors and mobile devices we need to keep our kids from falling behind.
As 2021 draws to its close, we’re feeling stronger than ever. We look at the future with confidence, and are making plans not to draw back, but to expand.
I hope that you’ll join us by making a generous year-end gift that will help us enrich the lives of our kids and staff and expand our ability to rescue and raise more of these precious kids.
May God continue to bless you,
John McCollum, Executive Director, Asia’s Hope
Because you’ve had our back, Asia’s Hope is stronger than ever. But we still need your help…
As 2021 draws to a close, we need your help to raise another $100,000 to continue our forward progress in three key areas:
Education
Asia’s Hope kids outpace their peers, despite having had a rough start to their academic careers. It costs a lot of money to keep 850 kids in school, but it’s the key to breaking generational cycles of poverty.
Technology
Our schools — and students — need laptops, projectors and other tech tools to compete at the highest levels of scholastic achievement. We want to maintain and sharpen our edge, and we need to continue to invest in technology to do so.
Facilities
We’ve been blessed with more than 50 buildings that we own debt free. But these facilities need continual maintenance and upgrades. Your contributions make it work!

Family-style care. Why it matters so much.
Our nearly 20 years of ministry has taught us that an orphan child’s greatest need is, simply put, to no longer be an orphan.
But for kids who cannot be safely reunited with their families of origin, and who will never be adopted, the traditional “orphanage” model fails to provide the family a child needs to thrive. That’s why we’ve invested everything into replacing the institutional model that has failed so many kids around the globe.
Each of our homes is built around a loving, married mom and dad. No shift workers. No impersonal, institutional care. No one “ages out” at 16 or 18.
That’s why our kids are succeeding at rates that literally no one thought was possible. And that’s why Asia’s Hope needs to thrive: not only for the benefit of the kids in our care, but as a case study of how it can be done right.

What’s next for Asia’s Hope?
In 2022, we’ll be celebrating our twentieth anniversary!
We’ll be spending a lot of energy next year reflecting on lessons learned over twenty amazing years, and articulating an exciting vision for where we see God taking us over the next decade.
We’re already working with our board, staff and strategic partners to evaluate needs and opportunities, and we have begun to outline ambitious new initiatives that will require the same kind of generosity and courageous leadership that has built Asia’s Hope into the transformative force it is today. These plans include bold investments and dramatic expansions in STEM, performing and visual arts and trauma-informed care.
And if global travel conditions permit it, we’re hoping to bring in our directors from Asia — and their spouses — and host a series of fundraising, partnership-building and celebration events.
