Awesomefest 2010 to benefit Asia's Hope

For the second year in a row, the funds raised by Awesomefest will benefit Asia's Hope.

What's Awesomefest? I'll let this verbiage from the Awesomefest web site tell the story:

We are a triathlon of sorts.  The three events are cycling, a movie marathon and tattooing.  Each years theme changes.  To date we have explored the Rocky and Jaws franchises.  This being our official third year, we are exploring the Dirty Harry saga.  What this means for the participant is 30+ miles of city road cycling, sitting through all five Dirty Harry films and getting a Dirty Harry-themed tattoo (optional).

The idea is to incorporate all things awesome.  This is why we are also affiliated with Asia’s Hope, a charity organization that educates, shelters and raises orphans in Cambodia.  Last year’s event raised over $1,600 for the charity.  We hope to double that figure this year.  Thanks to amazing donors like Seagull BagsPabst Blue RibbonParadise Garage and Roll we always have an amazing silent auction and a fun-filled day.  Add to it all events like bike polo, movie trivia and awesome shirts (see last years Jaws-inspired shirt) and you are almost guaranteed you’ll have a great time.

This years event will be held around mid-August (check back soon for a concrete date) at the Wild Goose Creative in Columbus, Ohio. Check back weekly for updates, poster and shirt designs as well a new Dirty Harry-themed song.
