Your participation in The Himalayan Partnership will help us improve the lives of the 140 kids living in our six current homes and will provide the financial stability Asia’s Hope needs to add new homes and admit more children in the future.


The Kalimpong 1 Home

Adopted by Asia’s Hope in 2011, this home is led by Pastor Amber Gurung and his wife, Radha with the help of two other full-time adult caregivers. The 22 children at this home range from elementary school to university. Most of the children attend Jubilee High School, St. Philomena’s High School and Kumudhini High School in Kalimpong, and two of the older boys are enrolled at Neotia University in Kolkata. This home benefits from long-term financial support from their church sponsor, Lake Forest, in Huntersville, North Carolina.

Pastor Amber and Radha have been married for 26 years. They have two daughters, Melonika, age 16 and Indira, age 25. Amber is also co-director of Asia’s Hope India.

The Kalimpong 2 Home

Founded in 2012, this home’s leadership is currently in transition. The 22 children at Kalimpong 2 are mostly elementary and middle school aged, but a few of the older kids attend high school. The younger children attend Kalimpong Jubilee Primary School, St. Philomena Secondary School. The older students attend Kumudhini High School, Jubilee High School and Kalimpong Girls High School.

 

The Kalimpong 3 Home

This home, founded in 2014, is led by home parents Anil and Latika, with the assistance of two other full-time, live-in caregivers. Along with Anil and Latika’s two biological children 23 Asia’s Hope kids call Kalimpong 3 home. They range from kindergarten to grade 9, and attend Jubilee Elementary and Higher Secondary School, Kumudhini High School, and St. Philomena High School. This home’s long-term sponsor is Narrow Road Church in Heath, Ohio.

The Kalimpong 4 Home

Founded in 2014, this home has 24 children — including the home parents’ three kids. The family is assisted by two additional live-in care givers. Most of the kids are between 9 and 14 year old, and attend Mt. Carmel Primary, Jubilee Primary and Secondary School, St. Philomena’s and Kumdhini Schools. This home has been sponsored since its founding by Vista Community Church (Dublin, Ohio) and Scarlet City Church (Columbus, Ohio).

The Kalimpong 5 Home

The Kalimpong 5 home started in 2015. There are 23 children, including the home parents’ two biological children. Like the rest of our homes, KP5 also has two additional live-in adult caregivers. This kids at this home are mostly elementary and middle schoolers. They attend Jubilee Primary and Secondary Schools, Kumudhini School, Indo-Tibetan higher Secondary, St. Philomena’s and Paramount School. This home is sponsored by Life Church (Columbus, Ohio).

The Kalimpong 6 Home

This home was founded in 2016. The home parents are assisted by two other adult caregivers who live in the home. There are 20 children, including the home parents’ biological child. The KP6 kids are mostly age 3–12, and they attend Kumudhini School, Jubily Primary School, St. Philomena’s and Mt. Carmel Secondary School.
