Nepal Earthquake: Relief Update

Thank you to everyone who has given so generously and sacrificially to our relief effort in Nepal: thanks to your efforts, we've raised nearly $30,000! We're excited because 100% of these funds are being used to deliver life-saving aid to our Nepali brothers and sisters, especially those caring for orphaned children. Your donations have allowed us to purchase emergency food rations, tents, household supplies, wheelchairs, and medical treatment for many who would otherwise be overlooked by large-scale relief efforts.

We've also been able to contribute financially to the efforts of other front-line organizations including Tiny Hands International, Global Youth Ministry Network, and Himalayan Region Vineyard Churches.

In the coming days, members of our leadership team from Asia's Hope India will return to Nepal, delivering more badly-needed funds and supplies. Please pray for them as they minister to these communities. They'll also be working with our ministry partners to strategize medium-term relief efforts for Nepali pastors and leaders in remote, outlying villages, facilitating the essential work of rescuing and caring for the many vulnerable and orphaned children in the midst of this tragedy.

Stay tuned, we'll be providing more updates in the coming days — and please continue to give.

Nepal Earthquake: Update from Kathmandu, Nepal

As of last Thursday, Pastor N___, Director of Asia's Hope in India, made the journey from Kalimpong, India, to Katmandu, Nepal. Since his arrival he has been making contact with local Pastors, leaders and congregations in our network. The stories we have been receiving from Pastor N___ are heartbreaking.

The devastation, both in Kathmandu and in the surrounding remote villages, is extensive — and for many people, aid simply hasn't arrived. Thanks to everyone who has given generously and sacrificially, Pastor N___ and his wife have had the opportunity to directly provide food and shelter, arrange for medical care, minister to the injured and the grieving, and assist local pastors in providing for the needs of the orphaned children in their care. Over the past few days, Pastor N___ has been ministering to the family and congregation of Pastor Eliya — a long-time friend, church planter and pastor trainer who lead one of Kathmandu's largest congregations. Eliya was killed alongside his eldest son and 17 other members of his congregation when their church building collapsed. Nearly 60 people were trapped inside the rubble until an Indian rescue team was finally able to free them on Tuesday. This group of believers, and indeed, many other churches in our network, now have nothing and are in dire need.

Please continue to give. 100% of your donation goes to those in need. In coordination with local Nepali pastors and leaders, Asia's Hope will continue to provide direct assistance and financial support to those on the front-lines of this disaster, prioritizing strategic relief to those who are in greatest need and might otherwise be overlooked. We'll be providing updates as more information as it becomes available, and if you have questions or would like to speak to us about our relief efforts, please contact us

Nepal and India Earthquake Relief

Hundreds of leaders from the Himalayan region gathered in January for the Asia's Hope Himalayan Leaders Conference. These individuals have been directly affected by this crises and on are now the front lines of relief efforts.

Please join us in supporting the Himalayan Region In the wake of the Nepal Earthquake

The entire Himalayan region been shaken by a massive earthquake, centered near Kathmandu, Nepal. The city and especially the surrounding towns and villages have been utterly devastated, with destruction reaching as far as neighboring India, including the regions surrounding Darjeeling and Assam.

The leaders in our network, many of whom are now unreachable or impossible to contact, are on the front-lines of this crises. Please continue to uphold them in your prayers, interceding for their safety and the safety of their loved ones.

Because of these indigenous leaders and organizations in our network, Asia's Hope is responding to this crises, prioritizing grassroots, orphan-focused relief efforts — we will distribute 100% of the funds we receive to Nepali and Indian leaders connected to Asia's Hope who are already caring for orphaned children and those caring for children orphaned by the earthquake.

Please consider making a generous gift. We will provide ongoing updates as we raise and distribute these badly needed funds.

Our staff and kids in are safe

As you can imagine, our kids and staff are on edge — a powerful aftershock interrupted church on Sunday morning, and another one struck right as the kids were going to bed.

Some of the older structures in the city of Kalimpong, India, have been damaged, including minimal damage to the house where our Kalimpong 5 children's home has been residing (they have since been moved to anther location).

Please continue praying for safety and peace of mind for our children and staff as the situation continues to develop.
